Respected executive director of TRIFED Shri Anupam Trivedi attended Conference on 'Implementation of PMEGP scheme for Tribals in NE', which was conducted by NSTFDC & MOTA. where he had also interacted with the minister & Secretary of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Nagaland. he also has visited a VDVK unit 55 km away from Kohima with people from MARCOFED & Youth Net NGO (Implementing agency). It is specifically focused on Food items such as Dry gooseberry Ginger, Orange Squash, Honey etc. he has also physically crushed gooseberry & Ginger on their traditional Mortel and pestle. and also interacted with local SHG members. There is a demand from them to provide power tools & dryer.

The TRIFED - UNICEF Platform, after the success of its Covid vaccination initiative, to create a force multiplier for equity and economic empowerment of tribal communities through the 50,000 VAN DHAN SHGs and the 10 lac strong VanDhan Tribal Entrepreneurs therein. It will include all Trifed Tech for Tribals partners too and will also evaluate and monitor the outcomes of this strategy.

"Covid Tikka Sang Surakshit Van, Dhan aur Udhyam" was successfully launched

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) and e-grocery platform Big Basket, on Monday, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the promotion and sale of natural Van Dhan products being made available to Big Basket from Van Dhan production units. With this, Big Basket will be able to enrich its portfolio through the hand-made authentic forest products sourced by the tribal population. “Our Government is focussed on promoting tribal entrepreneurship, enhancing inclusive and balanced development of tribals on a whole. These strategic collaborations of TRIFED – TRIBES INDIA will help Van Dhan tribal beneficiaries in remote areas to overcome challenges restricting their access to domestic and international markets,” said Arjun Munda, Minister for Tribal Affairs.

A Tripartite MOU has been signed amongst TRIFED, FITT, IIT Delhi and M/s Rusicaa Beverages Pvt. Ltd on 16.09.2021 in presence of National Head Banking & Finance, DICCI for commercialization of Mahua Nutra beverage - (A Heritage drink) in Jharkhand State. This is the first of its initiative in the State of Jharkhand and TRIFED shall explore looking for such entrepreneurs in other states as well for the benefit of tribal communities across the Country.

Tribal Livelihood Development Programme

The TRIFOOD project is being implemented by #TRIFED, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India in association with Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India with the assistance of District Administration. #TRIFOOD aims to enhance the income of tribals through better utilization of and value addition to the MFPs collected by the tribal forest gatherers. To achieve this, as a start, a TRIFOOD facility will soon be operational at Jagdalpur, Chattisgarh.
