Awareness Camp in Lahaul & Spiti Highlights TRIFED’s Tribal Initiatives

On 14th November 2025, TRIFED Regional Office (North) participated in an Awareness Camp organized under the banner of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh 2025 at Barbog Panchayat, Keylong, in the Lahaul & Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. During the event, TRIFED representatives briefed panchayat members and local residents on the organization's key initiatives, schemes, and ongoing efforts for tribal development and empowerment.

 

Strengthening Tribal Enterprise: MoTA Leadership Engages with Artisans at Tribal Business Conclave

At the Tribal Business Conclave, Smt. Ranjana Chopra, Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), along with senior ministry officials, visited the Tribes India stall and shared valuable feedback to further promote tribal products. They engaged with tribal artisans and Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) members, appreciating their craftsmanship and exchanging ideas to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship.

"Aadi Chitra" Tribal Painting Exhibition Opens in Mumbai!

As part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED present “Aadi Chitra” at P. L. Deshpande Kala Academy, Mumbai (10–16 Nov 2025, 11 AM–7 PM). Featuring 100+ artworks from Warli, Saura, Gond, Bhil, Pithora traditions—with live Warli painting by tribal artists.

TRIFED Regional Office (North) participated in the National Tribal Festival at Gurez Valley, Bandipora (6–7 Aug 2025), where newly empanelled tribal SHGs and individuals showcased indigenous products

The TRIFED Regional Office (North) participated in a two-day National Tribal Festival held at Gurez Valley, Bandipora, from 6–7 August 2025. The event featured empanelled tribal Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and individual tribal artisans showcasing their indigenous craftsmanship and traditional products.

The festival was inaugurated by Sh. Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Aadi Chitra – the National Tribal Painting Exhibition was inaugurated at the renowned Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, graced by the presence of Shri Vijay Waghmare, IAS, Secretary, Tribal Development Department, Government of Maharashtra, and Padma Shri awardee Shri Paresh Rathwa. This vibrant exhibition showcases the artistic brilliance, cultural heritage, and profound spiritual traditions of tribal communities across India.

RO West Bengal conducted TAeM in Hura Thana Adivasi LAMPS at Hura, Purulia District of West Bengal on 29th July 2025. 40 Tribal artisans participated in the TAeM. The RDO officer of WBTDCC was present in the TAeM as a chief guest along with other guests i.e. Founder of Tribal Veda Heritage etc.

Tribal Artisan Empanelment Mela (TAeM) – Balurghat LAMPS, Dakshin Dinajpur

The Tribal Artisan Empanelment Mela (TAeM) was successfully organized on 16th July 2025 at Balurghat LAMPS, located in the Dakshin Dinajpur District of West Bengal. The event aimed to identify, support, and empanel tribal artisans under various development schemes.
