TRIFED RO Guwahati Organizes Tribal Artisans Empanelment Mela at Bodoland University
TRIFED Regional Office, Guwahati successfully organized the Tribal Artisans Empanelment Mela (TAEM) today as part of the ongoing exhibitions at Bodoland University. The event witnessed the participation of 17 tribal artisans, showcasing a vibrant array of indigenous craftsmanship. A total of 50 unique product samples were procured and tagged during the Mela for further evaluation and promotion.
Smt. Hiranya Devi, representing the Handloom & Textile Department of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), graced the occasion as an expert, offering valuable insights and guidance to the participating artisans.
The Hon’ble Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Shri Biswajit Daimary, visited the Mela and interacted with the artisans. He commended TRIFED’s efforts in creating a meaningful platform for tribal communities to exhibit their products, emphasizing its potential to foster sustainable livelihoods. The Hon’ble Speaker also visited the Tribes India stall, appreciating the diverse range of tribal products on display.
